We are blessed to have so many great people participating in the mission of our church.


On this page, learn a little more about a few members and consider your place among us.  We'd love to see a few new faces at Sunday service, special events, or workshops.

Rev. Susan Hill-Mellott

President and Co-Pastor


Susan was ordained as a Spiritualist minister in October, 2000.  She is a medium, a Tarot card reader, and a spirit artist.  She teaches a weekly mediumship development class at church, as well as workshops on a variety of subjects.  She is especially interested in the role of women throughout the history of Spiritualism and firmly believes in finding the fun in everything – including church.  Her hobbies include mixed media art, knitting, and ballroom dancing.


Rev. Mike Mellott

Co-Pastor and Vice-President


Mike has worked as a Spiritualist platform worker since 1987 and has served many churches in Indiana and Ohio.  He studied for almost 10 years with many old-time mediums to help hone his abilities.  He was ordained as a Spiritualist minister in 1997.


Jacqueline M. Gardner

Secretary


Jackie is a certified Reiki Master Teacher providing leadership in personal healing activities, professional healing training, and medical research of spiritual healing modalities.  Ms. Gardner has almost 20 years experience in marketing and product marketing fields for technology and not-for-profit organizations. She is currently the Director of Marketing for a national project management professional services firm serving the Construction /Engineering and Power Utilities markets.


Carol Tully

Treasurer


Carol founded a small business in 1991 and has nearly thirty years experience in the business world.   She has been Director of Finance for several not-for-profit organizations and has served on various not-for-profit boards.  She earned a degree in finance from Indiana University and holds an Indiana Real Estate Broker’s License.  Hobbies include biking, walking, mixed-media art, reading, and dancing.  




Wayne Deutsch

Trustee


Wayne is a third generation Spiritualist.  He has followed the Red Road of his native/indigenous roots for 30 years.  He works with healing energies and enjoys indigenous ceremonies and pow-wows.  His hobbies include gardening and crafts.


Nancy Henderson

Trustee


Nancy’s professional background includes over 30 years in the financial industry.  Her passion is to empower others through a path of self-discovery, personal wellness and growth.  She  is a Reiki Master Teacher and Reiki practitioner.  Nancy co-leads the Energy Circle, which is open to all those interested in exploring and sharing energy healing modalities. Nancy enjoys reading, walking, relaxing in nature when not working. 


Hoss Hostettler

Trustee


Hoss joined the Board of Trustees after attending Progressive Spiritualist Church for the past five years.  Although he’s considered himself a “closet” Spiritualist for many years, he comes by it quite naturally.  His great-grandmother was a practicing medium at Camp Chesterfield.  Shamanism and Tarot are current studies for Hoss.  Outside of church, he donates much of his time to The Mankind Project of Indiana, a volunteer men’s organization.


Hope Upchurch

Trustee


Hope is an American Sign Language interpreter and works in the school system with deaf and special needs students.  She is a Reiki practitioner and spiritual healer, as well as a spirit artist and medium.
